Friendly, Bible based, Western Cowboy Church
Reviewed by Ragfish on 2008-02-28T15:11:24Z

A friendly, Bible based, Western style Cowboy church. Right off the interstate 45 N.bound service road. Exit 244 Alma and head North! Fundamentalist, cowboy, friendly and filled with the Holy Spirit and love for the family, while serving others....those are the adjectives that fit the Cowboy Church of Ennis, Texas. Pastor Mike ministers to a 230+ gathering of cowboys (urban, authentic, wannabees?) who will greet you and make you feel right at home. Get there early for coffee, OJ and donuts! The old timey gospel music and inspired Bible expository preaching will encourage, teach and exhort you. This would be an excellent place to either begin your personal relationship with Jesus, or continue your Christian walk. Since I have room to spare, let me tell you about the sermon from 2/24/08. It was about Salvation. What is Salvation? Is it something done once and for all when you've accepted Christ as Lord and Savior? Salvation is an ongoing process with a past, present and future. 2000 years ago, Salvation was accomplished for all of mankind in the spirit by Jesus' sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection. In the present, we receive His free gift and continue our sanctification by persevering in the ongoing purification of our soul. In the future, we will be glorified in our new body 100% freed of the Adamic nature, when Jesus comes for us in the clouds. So, Salvation occurs in the Spirit, Soul and Body. It was accomplished for us in the ancient past, endeavored by our persevering through grace in our present lives, and fulfilled in our future glorification!!! If any of this leaves you either breathless or with questions, I am sure that Pastor Mike will be delighted to tell you more about you and Jesus. Tell'm 'Howdy' from Ragfish! Sunday service starts at 10:30. Mens' and Womens' Bible Studies Monday @ 7PM

Pros: Friendly, family rated....too wonderful! No fleecing of the sheep (offerring box by door)

Cons: easy to see, but a little tricky to get to if you pass it North Bound on I-45
